An Angel With A Dirty Face!

DS wanted to feed himself at teatime so I let him - controlled mess! Only trouble was, he had Spag Bol and here's the end result...

Saturday Scrapping

I've managed to complete this week's challenge on UKS - bits of it have been sitting on my desk since Monday evening and I'm cracking on with stuff for Shimelle's class. DS is asleep & DH is putting catches on 2 doors in the kitchen for me.

We'll be watching the Boat Race shortly and rooting for Oxford.

Friday Feelings

DS & I got drenched coming back from the shops at lunch time. Well, I did, he was snuggly under his rainhood!
DS is now having his nap & we're waiting for a guy to pop round from the loft extension company to go over a few things and then hopefully next week the ball will start rolling.
I want to go & play with my stash but looks like I'm going to have to wait until this evening.

Scrapping Heaven

Well, I'm 4 days in to Shimelle's new class and enjoying it & myself. Have got mum, Sib & BF photographing their front doors for me!
I've finished with Wanda's Our Song CJ (I was the last entry) so I've been able to send it home to her early, the Partners' Birth CJ for 1937 has gone off and I received 1964 this morning. I also had the return of the Blue Stash Swap today - lots of yummy stuff inside. I've still to have a go at this week's challenge on UKS though. BF has finally signed up to UKS and has even done the challenge & asked to join a team - yay!

There's No Place Like Home!

Shimelle's new class started yesterday but due to a few access difficulties I didn't get to see the 1st prompt until this morning. The class will run for 5 weeks so by the end of it I should have a lovely record for DS of our current home in leafy London suburbia!
Am really looking forward to getting started!

UKScrappers

The problem with UKS is that because it is a virtual world, it's quite easy to upset people. I've just completed a DLO in a CJ that currently weighs 1lb 9ozs and when I made a comment about the size & weight of it the owner got all sniffy and tried to lecture me about what we signed up to!

My Shimelle on-line course has begun today but I'm still waiting for the 1st email prompt and can't access the forum!

On a nicer note - we had a lovely day with BF & her family. They are such lovely people and I count my blessings very often!!

BIA Interactive Mini Book

Here it is, the finished article - not 100% confident about the interactive elements though!

Easter Weekend

... and it is snowing! Great big flakes have been falling for about an hour but the good news is that it isn't really sticking ...

I went to my Crop yesterday, turned out to be just 3 of us. We all had a productive morning though as well as finding the time for drinking tea & eating mini eggs! I managed to do 3 LOs in the Godparents' albums, a few more pages in the 40th birthday album (they just need titles) and successfully make a hidden page to go in the BIA interactive book swap.

There's talk of us going to see the InLaws this afternoon but I think we'll be seeing what the weather does. Have no desire to be on the M4 in a blizzard!

Visitors

BF & her family dropped in this morning for coffee & hot cross buns; they were due in North London for lunch with a Great Aunt. BF's DS is a proper little boy and her DD is beginning to smile. My DS just wants to be on his feet the whole time!

Lonestar

I've discovered a new song...well, new to me...I'm Already There by Lonestar. It was recommended by a girl on UKS and when I listened to it I was completely blown away. You should listen to it, 79p on iTunes.

Being A Mummy...

...is blooming hard work!! DS refused point blank to have a nap this afternoon and when I finally brought him downstairs all he wanted to do was cry or bash the television screen with his hard toys! He only settled down once he'd had his tea and I left him to have a quiet half an hour in his highchair. Tired babies make for grumpy babies, that's for sure!!

Still, tomorrow is another day and as it's Thursday, it's also Sing & Sign - the penultimate one, sad to say.

Scrapping wise, hardly anything got done, apart from punching the holes with the BIA for a 40th birthday present. The birthday in question isn't until June so this is a work in progress. I'm a bit behind with the Godparents' albums, as in March's LOs are not done but hopefully I'll be able to play catch up at Saturday morning's Crop.

Monday

Another funny old day, really. Mum has gone home and I've had an awful headache most of the day that I can't seem to shift. I had a nap when DS went for his nap after lunch!

However, it's not been a wasted day because I have done the new weekly challenge on UKS and signed up for another BIA swap.

Catching Up

I've caught up today with outstanding letters, scrapping (well, 1 DLO), the ironing and general chores. Mum has been fab with DS so I had the time...pity she goes home tomorrow!

Henry Moore at Kew Gardens

We went down to Kew yesterday afternoon to catch the Henry Moore exhibition before it closes on Sunday...we've been meaning to go since it opened last August! But you know what's it like when things are on your door step...

BIA Project Swap on UKS

I finished it this afternoon and am really pleased with how it turned out. Might have to make another one so I can keep one!

Granny

Granny arrived yesterday for a week's stay and is currently bathing DS as I type this!! Love her!

I went off for my C/Section scar appointment this AM - it's not a hernia, thank goodness, it's a nerve trapped in the scar tissue! Sounds gruesome but is apparently treatable without the need for surgery. I just have to wait now for an appointment to the relevant clinic at a different hospital - c'est la vie!

UKS Weekly Challenge

I haven't done one in a while but I liked the idea of this weeks so here it is.

Wintry Weather

It's been hideous here today! By the time DS & I got back from the Post Office at lunch time I looked like a drowned rat! Luckily DS was dry & snuggly in his buggy. I spent the afternoon in my PJ bottoms - how slovenly!!

Buddlia Tree

DH has been pruning the buddlia in the front garden...I got him to hack loads off and it's amazing how much more light is already coming through the kitchen window.

Learning New Stuff

I've decided to stretch myself mentally by signing up for another on-line photography course run by CJ of Feel Good Photos...she's also well known in the scrapping world. This new course will be all about taking portraits so I'm bound to learn something that will help me take better photos of DS!

I've also signed up for Shimelle's new class all about Home & Where We Live. It starts on the 24th so am looking forward to that. And just to stretch myself that little bit more, I've signed up for a BIA swap on UKS - black & white with a hint of pink.

Cards & Flowers

Oh, yes, before I forget...here's my beautiful flowers from DS for Mother's Day and my lovely cards.

A Mummy Moment

We were at Sing & Sign again this morning and DS gave me my own mummy moment because he made the sign for "cow" during Old MacDonald Had A Farm! I was so proud of him!

Tuesday

I wangled another lie-in this morning but I think I'll be pushing my luck if I try and get some more in the next week or two! The weather here today has been much colder; I put the extra padding back in DS's pushchair to keep him snuggly and have ordered the proper foot muff thingy from Mamas & Papas for him. I'm also planning on getting him a light weight "stroller" for when we go on holiday...expensive business having a baby!

Belated Mother's Day

Think DH must have been feeling ever so slightly guilty this morning because he got up with DS (who, admittedly, didn't wake until 8.15am) and then he bought me tea & toast in bed!

DS & The Dog

DS decided it would be fun to get in the dog's bed....while the dog was in it! We're very lucky that our dog is such a good natured pup, he adores DS!

Mothers' Day

It's Mothers' Day in the UK today...and DH went off to Derbyshire with his sister to see their mum so DS & I have been on our own most of the day. I did get some lovely cream roses and a very cute card from DS so I shouldn't really complain. I must photograph the roses before they get past their best.

I'm not expecting DH home for another few hours so I get to be in charge of the TV remote at any rate...things aren't all bad!!

The Wonders of the WWW

Last night I wanted to blanket stitch around a piece of felt but couldn't remember how so I googled "blanket stitch" and, hey presto, there were the instructions! Fabulous! You gotta love the WWW (all the filth that's out there notwithstanding).

Saturday

It's been like Spring here today so we went off en famille to the park. DS loves looking at everything and the dog runs around like a mad thing!

I finally photographed my new BIA, think I need a bit more practice but overall I'm really chuffed with it.
