Today I learned that the Christmas Sales are madness. I was out and about today for fresh bread and milk and decided to cut through Marks & Spencer on my way home. I couldn't believe my eyes! The sales floor was a seething mass of people, pulling at this top and tugging at that blouse; the amount of merchandise scrunched up on the floor was incredible. That's why I stay well away. The only shop I need is a flooring shop and they should be quite quiet if everyone else is in M & S!!

I avoid going shopping at this time of year - other than for groceries - because of scenes like that! I
