Good morning and welcome to the second Pink Saturday post of 2010! As ever, we have been organised by the fabulous Beverly over at How Sweet The Sound; do check out her blog for a complete list of participants. My 'pinkie' this week is my beautiful and currently flowering orchid. It used to live on the mantel piece in the lounge, but didn't do very much, apart from looking rather sad. I moved it onto the kitchen windowsill, alongside a yellow orchid, and, bingo, it has flowered once or twice a year ever since. Both orchids tend to survive on neglect, as I water them very sparingly. This week's GiveAway can be seen here: if you would like a chance to win it, please leave a comment to show that you dropped by; become a follower of this ordinary, run-of-the-mill blog if you'd like a 2nd chance of winning. The random number selector thingy will choose the winner at 12 Noon (GMT) on Tuesday, 12 January.

Happy Pink Saturday Ruth. I love your lovely orchid and know all too well how to kill this beautiful plant. I think I probably overwatered mine and that did her in. Yours is a lovely color and glad to hear it's doing well on the kitchen windowsill. Char
Dropping by tonight to say, "Hi." I'm amazed at your orchid. I manage to kill them, no matter whether I care for them or neglect them. But yours is lovely.
I've always managed to kill orchids..I just don't have the touch they need. Yours is just gorgeous. Happy Pinks..have a wonderful weekend.

Oh, it's lovely :-) I'm no gardener lol so anything that thrives on neglect sounds good to me!! x
Happy Pink Saturday. Lovely post! Have a great weekend. Stop by anytime you would like. Winona
Gorgeous orchid!
Happy Pink Saturday Ruth...
What a beautiful orchid. My gosh that bloom is gorgeous. I just love it. I guess sometimes we have to move a plant around to find just the right happy place for it, so that it will smile right back at us. Isn't life beautiful in the blooming field?
As always Ruth thank you for sharing. I am so thrilled that you shared this orchid. I have never heard of anyone that had one that actually bloomed for them.
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
I have that orchid too :) though mine's not flowering at the moment. I have 5 orchids on my kitchen windowsill and they make it so much more cheerful. I love that they flower for so long!
I'm a day late and a dollar short with my Pink Saturday visits. The sun was shining too bright yesterday and just like a little kid I couldn't stop marveling at how lovely it was as it beamed through my lace curtains and puddled on the floor. My cats were in heaven.
So, here I am today, a little late but thinking that I got a bonus because I avoided all the traffic!
Lovely blog and the sweetest pinks that you shared. Thank you so much for making this such a lovely Sunday for me.
Beautiful pink orchids! I love orchids of all kinds and types!
