Aliums: In Slow Motion

This is the first year that I have attempted to grow Aliums from bulbs ~ I think that they are quite amazing, not to mention beautiful, and a perfect example of Nature at her best. This sequence of photos is part of a set that I began on 6 May. Each shot was taken round about 4-4.30pm, using the double Macro setting.

they are gorgeous....and it is so much fun to see the wondrous process of it opening up!

..last week on the Martha Stewart show she was giving away a garden camera that you just set up and set it to snap a photo at regular intervals of your choice...it's magical to see the transformation!

How lovely! I think it's wonderful to see them unfolding. They look like a lot of screwed-up tissue paper, then suddenly, they're flowers!
