~ Lard balls ~
I made up these lard balls for our local bird population. They take about 5 minutes: melt a packet of lard (I used Tesco's Value lard) and stir in RSPB-approved nuts and sunflower seeds. Form in to ball shapes and place on greaseproof paper to set. Your garden's birds will love them.

I have always been too lazy and bought them ready made! You're right tho' the birds love them!
