Cartagena: A Brief Glimpse

First impressions of Cartagena are favourable.  The architecture in the walled old city is wonderful, the streets are bright and clean, the locals are friendly and don't laugh when you try a few words of Spanish out on them.  The only mildly annoying aspect so far is the number of street hawkers trying to sell you hats, jewellery and general tourist tat.

Laughing, laughing.."tat" is a word we love round here too. As in "will we visit the tat shops or ignore them?"

No matter where you go in the world, you will always find somewhere selling 'tat'! Great photos, it looks like a really interesting place to visit. Looking forward to seeing more ...

It looks so lovely! And yes, if you're in a beautiful location, it's hard to avoid the tat, sadly...

We don't use the term 'tat' down here, but I know what you are talking about ... not a fan at all!

Cartagena looks lovely.
