Lyuba

I took The Boy Child to the Natural History Museum today to see Mammoths: Ice Age Giants.
Because I wanted to see Lyuba (pronounced Looba).
~ Source: Natural History Museum ~
Lyuba is a baby mammoth and is around 40,000 years old.  She died at just one month old, when she drowned in mud.
She was discovered in Siberia in 2007 by reindeer herders and her name is Russian for love.  No photographs of her were allowed.
She was so beautiful and delicate, if a 20 stone baby mammoth can be, that I went back to look at her three times.
There was also time for looking at a few touchy-feely exhibits.
And a visit to the blue whale; always a favourite.
And once home, time to write about it in his Holiday Diary in return for 20 minutes iPad time.
A good start to the half-term holidays.
