Something Is Missing

Here we are, three days into 2011 and I'm unsettled.  Very unsettled.  I considered all the ongoing factors in my life:  DS ready to go back to nursery school ~ check, that's tomorrow.  DH ready to start back at work ~ check, he's been sliding off to his office for the past few afternoons.  FIL on the verge of over-staying his welcome ~ check, but he's going home on Friday and isn't really any trouble.  Scrapping projects to start ~ check, there are 3 beginning this very week.  DS's thank-yous ~ check, but still about 6 to write.  Photography project ~ um, nope.
See, that's it.  My hands are looking for the camera, yet I remain uninspired and the camera is sitting forlornly on my desk.  What to do?  Shutter Sisters are running a project to tie in with One Little WordUKScrappers are running a photography A-Z 2011, but I didn't really have a positive experience with that particular forum.  My sister is probably going to take part in 52 In Black and White, which I do like the sound of and is possibly the favourite so far.  But ...  What are your photographic plans for 2011?

Well...I'm sticking with doing a photo a day. Our Space is still out there, too. I'm feeling a tad lost right now, though. All I know is that I need my camera. :) Hope you find something!

Very useful round-up of photography challenges for 2011, Ruth. I too am missing going out with my camera but that's because the weather's been awful and I'm a 'fair weather photographer'!!
I admire you for completing last year's challenge and I hope you get back to taking photos soon ;)

I've been wondering what you would do! Whatever you decide, please keep taking those pictures

I still haven't decided what to do either! It's been a photo a day so far but I'm back at work tomorrow so no idea if that will carry on. I usually do a b&w every week so might keep up with that... think I'll just go with the flow and see what happens!

I'm giving the B&W a bash but do feel odd about not having to run about all day looking for something to photograph!!

Well I am doing a photo a day, mostly inspired by you, I speak melsh, and the like over the past year. I have been religiously following even if not commenting.
I've always found Uks to be a great place to chat, although I am in a fabulous team, and I know I am very lucky in that respect. I have heard that some threads can be a bit clicky at times but I've luckily never encountered this.

To shoot whatever I fancy when I fancy shooting. Also when I feel better. It takes some of the pressure off.

XO,

Sheila :-)

I'm going to probably do a weekly round up - knowing me I will still be taking pics a few times a week but I couldn't manage daily (it would be soooo boring!)Keep taking and blogging your lovely photos x

I've decided to do a 12x12 project. Twelve topics every month for twelve months. I did a P365 for 3 years running & am now burnt out on it but I can't not document things so I came up with this idea instead

I did Project 365 last year and enjoyed that. The period I specially got most from is when a friend joined me and we too turns in setting a challenge. She doesn't live locally so it was a lovely way to have contact. It was also fun to see what we would each make of 'above ground' for example. Sadly she had to drop out but is picking up her camera again this year.
I'm interested in some of the other projects you mentioned and will be finding out more. But 365 will be my mainstay I think. A friend took photos purely of her children for 365. She says they were somewhat fed up by the end of the year so she is doing 52 this year.
Good luck with whatever you choose.
And I look forward to seeing your photos.

I have two answers to this predicament .... 1. either go with the flow and let the inspiration course run it's merry way - it will return eventually, or .... 2. pick up that camera and snap away at anything and everything and keep right on going and don't stop for a couple of days - upload your photos and print one at home and get scrapping. Now, remind me of this in a few weeks ok? ;-)

Oh, Ruth, I don't know. I feel like I am still catching my breath from project 365.

52 in black and white looks more manageable. Maybe I have to do something to keep my hand in, so to speak. (Especially now that I am killing my blog). Thank you for your kind words over the last several months. I'll be watching your creative adventures in 2011.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm carrying on with Project 365, because I can't imagine not doing it now! But I've changed my focus (so to speak....) and instead of including a food photo each day, I'm photographing 'details', to tie in with my one little word. My main photography goal though is to get to grips with my new dSLR, and that might take a while!

Good luck figuring out what you want to do - or have you already? I'm catching up on your posts in the wrong order!
