London Zoo

Yesterday saw our first family visit to London Zoo.  And possibly our last because we weren't that impressed with it, to be honest.
It also worked out at our most expensive trip of the summer.
Tube Fare: £5
Entrance Fees: £18.60 each for me and DH, £14.50 for DS
Taxi Fare: £28 (DH kindly suggested a cab home, as DS was exhuasted)
Total spent: £84.70
I made postcards from a 6x4 photo and cardstock.

Sorry to hear you didn't think much of it...I'm not much of a Zoo person, but DD loves them. The only one I've ever really enjoyed was San Diego- and pandas were the highlight there!

Sorry you didn't enjoy it that much. We have a great zoo here in St.Louis... and it is free. That's the best part about it! I do adore your pictures though. :)

That is pricey! I like the National Zoo in Washington DC but it is so crowded most of the time.

The word verification is cophouse. I find that funny

Yes, London Zoo is incredibly expensive. We just don't bother now, though I suppose we might go, if we got a 2-for-1 offer or something... Last time we went there, we were also quite disappointed - especially as they had removed the aquarium, where we'd seen so many fab. sea creatures before and which DS had been looking forward to.
By contrast, when we were in USA, the Zoo in Washington DC was Free; it's owned by the Smithsonian Institute and they don't charge for entry. We were happy to make a good donation to the zoo - they had a clearly visible, but discreet collection box at the entrance. That zoo was fab. too. In UK, we like Whipsnade Zoo, but again, it's become prohibitively expensive. I'm sure they'd make more money if they lowered their prices - we can't be the only family that won't pay so much and therefore don't go any more.

Shame you were disappointed - I hope you enjoyed some of your day anyway - and the photos are lovely.

Yikes that's expensive. I did laugh that you got a taxi home as DH was tired!!!
We only went to the zoo in Edinburgh as we got tickets for £3.50 each via Teaco Rewards. Shame it rained all day we were there.
