The Reasons Why

Mum and I went into Central London this morning; we visited the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey.
The reasons why we buy our poppies
The reasons why we wear them with pride

A good visual reminder of why we need to remember.

I believe there are only 53 villages in England and Wales that did not have any casualties in WW1 so even if we don't know it we have all been touched by that war. If we add in WW2 then I think the number of villages that was not affected by both wars is something like two or three.
My sons were in the army during the 90s and both saw "action" the youngest in Kosovo and the eldest in the Gulf. Neither were physically injured but both have been affected by what they experienced. The Royal British Legion and Saafa were invaluable. We buy our poppies and ensure that our grandchildren never forget.
