Photo a Day: 3rd October

Harvest Festival is on Friday; Harvest Festival donations are due tomorrow.
In The Boy Child's box I put 3 tins of Baxters soup, 3 cans of no-drain tuna fish, 1 jar of crunchy peanut butter, 1 tin of chopped tomatoes and 1 pack of macaroni pasta.
Have you sent a Harvest donation to your child's school?
What did you put in it?

We have a food bank collection next door, I'm always startled by some of the things that are put in :sigh:

Where does the food go?

What is a Harvest Festival? Are the food items donations? This weekend our parish is having a FallFestival which is a traveling carnival with rides and games. Musical groups, talent show, bake sale, book sale. It is the largest fund raiser for our church. My daughter is on youth team and will be working the game booths on Friday night.

That's a very generous basket. Our school / church festival we normally just take one item each and then they are put together. Harvest Festival was 3 weeks ago for us - took me by surprise

We don't have a Harvest Collection in school, though when they were younger Sunday School used to ask for fruit and veg. Now school does Christmas hampers and they give each class a different item, so all the first formers bring shortbread, for example, and then they put together lots of hampers at the end

My days of school Harvest Festivals are well behind those days the children took one item each and boxes were made up by the older pupils
