Off and Running

We're just four days in to 2013 and I feel exhausted.
We've been here at my mum's for three days and have packed loads in to our days.
We've caught up with family.
And The Boy Child has played with his cousins, 21st century style.
We've been to the beach.
And have been reflective.
We've had an oral offer of a place for The Boy Child for the school of our choice in September.
The Brainy One and I have viewed seven houses.  Yes.  Seven houses.  The one we like best is sadly in an area without local amenities.  And that would mean a complete overhaul of our lifestyle ~ everything would be much more car-centered and I'm not sure I want that.
To paraphrase Winston Churchill, in regard to relocation, we have made strong inroads and have reached the end of the beginning.

so pleased you have managed to find a good school for the Boy Child that will suit him and his specific needs, as I know that was something my SIL found difficult (indeed they didn't move in the end)I hope you find your dream home. What an exciting year it will be for you all! xxx

So pleased that one important issue for you has had such a positive outcome - and that's a gorgeous reflection photo! Hoping the next decision becomes clearer as the week goes on ....

Anywhere away from town or city centres will require more car use but you get used to being enconomical with journeys combining ferrying children to things with the shopping/appointment/leisure things. We used to live three miles outside a village and that meant shopping once a week at the most and growing all our own veg and stuff like that. You will be able to balance things and you could always get a bike or two for those impromptu journies

Great photos of the boys. I'm sure if you pick the house you like best you'll find a way round things. xxx
