On Sunday, while The Nephew went to Airsoft, we drove out 30+
miles to Brazos Bend State Park in Needville, Texas.
We were in search of alligators.
This baby is almost a year old and was still only
about a foot long.  He was a placid little thing
and happy to be held by the ranger.
The weather really was rather hot and the alligators were scarce.
We were probably more than a mile
into our walk before any were spotted.
We held a wee competition to see who could spot one first.
That honour went to The Brainy One.
We saw a grand total of four.
Which, of course, is better than none.
And I was extremely relieved not to encounter any on the footpaths.

Great photos, I hope you were using a long distance lens.

Nice photos - I'm glad you didn't discover any on the paths too. That's definitely a bit too close for comfort.
