In Remembrance

The morning didn't start too well.
I was in two minds as to take him to the Remembrance Day Service at the War Memorial.
We decided that we would.
He said it would be rubbish and boring (to my horror).
But as soon as he heard the plaintive notes of the Last Post,
followed by Big Ben strike the 11th hour, he was engaged.
And sang the National Anthem with such gusto that he put some older attendees to shame.

Lest we forget.

That's very moving, Ruth - and just goes to show that sometimes we have to make bigger spaces for our young ones, even if we think they are not ready for them ...

I am so pleased that he responded so incredibly well to the solemnity of the occasion. You must have been so very proud of him.
